BLUECROSS EMBU REPORT DETAILS 2008
NAME:
HOPE AND FUTURE FAMILY FOR DRUG ADDICTS.
-It was started on 30th may 2007.
-A faith based organization
-private body affliated with blue cross international.
-We mostly focus on local, grassroot poor people who cant afford the expenses of a rehabilitation service.
-Most of us have in the family have learnt and understood well that addiction is like any other disease which should be handled carefully and with love.
-We now live together as a family with a group of seven addicts namely;
1.Silvano Njeru
2.Peter murimi
3.Antony muriithi
4.Patrick muriuki.
5.Micah nyaga
6.Jacob njue and
7.Ken.
-Among the people we live with there are also some wokers making us a total of seventeen people.
AIM\VISION
Our vision is to reform those who are addicted to drugs, give themhopein life, love them and train in various activities depending on ones talent to become a reliable member of society
HOW WE RUN THE FAMILY
We have various project income generating activities;
- Poultry keeping
- Farming
- Daily Farming
- Ball making
- Fish farming
- Barber Shop
- Tea and Coffee Farming
We also get support from friends and members of society who are sympathising with the family home.
Where we are located
We are located in Kenya Eastern province Embu District, Kyeni North Location, Kiangungi Sub. Location, Kavururi Village. We are next to Mt. Kenya Forest and Past Rukuriri Tea Factory.
Residence
- At Present we have a timber house which is semi parmantent
- We are constructing a parment house which will have 18 rooms.
- Fourteen rooms are bedrooms, one louge, one kitchen, one Dining Hall, store and washrooms, - For now we have four rooms ready and a small meeting point
- We have a great hope to accomplish our expection and goal in a near future
How we Live:
We live as a family eating together in the home, praying and playing together. Allocating duties to each one of us according to programms and performance. We value each other without favourism and each is equal in our eyes. We also invite other bodies to come and share with us what they have and do including gospel.
Food program:
- We eat breakfast, mid-tea, lunch, supper.
- Breakfast we eat breat, porridge and tea
- Mid-tea just tea or porridge
- Lunch we eat Githeri or ugali
- Supper we change the diets.
- we get some food stuff from the farm: potatos, vegetables and soon
we start eating eggs and milk from the farm
Hardship:
1. lack of enough food stuff]
2.we are doing construction which is really expensive.
3.clothing
4.lack of electricity
5.water bills
6.labour changes
7.poor transport mostly hiring tax or walking.
8.need for a medical officer volunteer.
9.Advisers
REQUIREMENTS;
a.) Education
- most of them (addicts) have no education or a career. So we trz to organiye for them seminars, campaigns and education trips for training
b.) Sports
- we normally have indoor games but we also try others games and sports but we lack some facilities
c.) Post office box


We have a strong friend who has been helping us through the love of our father for the past time he has been donating to us thats why we have been moving up well.
